One of my earliest favorites is www.star-telegram.com the local news paper in Ft worth Texas. For the last week, no matter how I attempt to access the site, from favorites, search engine, or typing the url directly in the address bar, I get the star-telegram.com/mobil.
Star telegram contact us was no help. The site is hosted by vevary dot com or something, I contacted them and they at least asked a few questions. What browser, what version, what OP system etc. No answer yet.
this is an old machine, win98, not even second edition, but I can get email and surf the web, print the ocational photo from my digital camera etc, so it works for me, for now.
Any true geeks have an idea of what happened?
URL redirects, didn%26#039;t change anything.....?
Sounds like an interesting problem. I don%26#039;t have a real insight to the problem but I would probably do a couple of things and see what they get me.
1. I%26#039;d use a search engine to search for the URL and try to access it that way.
2. I%26#039;d try making it my home page (temporarily, of course).
If this quackery does not work perhaps someone else might be able to help.
Also use Internet options to delete temp files, history, cookies etc. Delete the mobil from the redirected URL.
It seems to me that you are able to get to the correct URL at any rate so my suggestions may be moot.
Good luck.
